Mineral fertilization in black bean cultivation with foliar application of vermicompostContenido principal del artículo
The objective of this experiment was to evaluate mineral fertilization in black bean cultivation with foliar application of vermicompost. The study was conducted in the San Francisco Community, Loreto District, Concepción Department, Paraguay, from July to October 2023, located at coordinates 23°20'37.6" South and 57°18'51.3" West. A randomized complete block design (RCBD) was used, with eight treatments and three replications in a bifactorial scheme; factor A: NPK doses, and factor B: with and without liquid vermicompost application. Each experimental unit measured 5 × 4 meters, totaling 20 m². The evaluated variables were plant height, number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, and yield. The data were subjected to ANOVA. For plant height, number of pods per plant, and number of grains per pod, no statistical differences were found for factor A; however, significant differences were observed for factor B in all evaluated variables. The highest yield was achieved with 175 kg ha⁻¹ of NPK, obtaining 1,403.16 kg ha⁻¹ of grains, combined with foliar application of liquid vermicompost. It is concluded that black bean production increases when mineral NPK fertilization is combined with foliar application of vermicompost.
